📦 Wing unveils larger delivery drone

The Rundown: Google parent company Alphabet's drone delivery subsidiary Wing just introduced a new aircraft model capable of carrying loads up to 5 pounds, doubling the capacity of its current 2.5-pound fleet.

The details:

• The drone aircraft can travel at speeds up to 65 miles per hour with a roundtrip range of 12 miles on a single charge.

• By carrying items like meal kits, pizzas, and bundles of household goods, Wing aims to streamline deliveries that currently require two separate 2.5-pound aircraft.

• Wing CEO Adam Woodworth stated the company will roll out the new 5-pound capacity drone across service areas over the next 12 months.
